Fire Escape Assemblies – Requirements
As mentioned earlier, having your fire escapes inspected is required by the law. Not only do we offer quality services but we also comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), State of California codes and local fire department requirements.
The NFPA 80 Standard for fire escapes and Other Opening Protectives regulates the installation and maintenance of assemblies and devices used to protect opening in walls, floors and ceilings in order to prevent the spread of fire and smoke in and out of buildings.
Fraker Fire Protection inspects, repairs and installs Fire Escape Assemblies in accordance with NFPA 80 so that you are protected in the event of a fire.
Fire Escape System Services
A fire escape system must contain the proper framing and hardware in order to prevent the spread of fire and smoke in a given facility for a certain period of time (30 minutes to three hours or more). These fire escapes are tested by Fraker Fire Protection Inc. We have technicians with qualified skills and knowledge to install, repair and test your fire escapes.
We determine that your fire escapes and frames have UL labeled hardware. If you hardware is non-labeled, it is at risk of preventing the spread of flames.
We also perform fire escape system repairs with the right material, hardware and closing mechanism in order to meet the requirements for fire protection. Our technicians perform tests to verify the following conditions:
- No physical damage exists.
- Hinges, hardware and other components are secured, aligned and working in proper condition.
- No missing parts on assemblies.
Fire escapes are integral components of any fire protection system and need proper inspection and maintenance. Failure to comply with mandated regulations on having your fired escapes inspected will not effectively protect the opening in a time of emergency. We ensure that all labels are in place and that all fire escapes are operable at all times.
